Football 101

After church on Sunday, Al gave Xander a quick lesson on offense.

First, Al explained to Xander what offense meant.

This is what the center does.

Ok Dad, I think I got it!

Now, show me something else!

This is what the quarterback does.

I think two offensive positions is enough for today!

Dad, can we talk about receivers & running backs next time?

Fun with Family

This weekend Xander visited his grandparents! He spent Friday night with Mom & Johnny. He had a great time! And, from what Mom said, he was a very good little boy!

On Saturday afternoon, Dad & Cathy picked him up and took him to Chuck E. Cheese. He had a super good time playing with his cousin Colton. Xander is six weeks older than Colton and they are really fun to watch!

Al & I picked up Xander on Saturday evening. We asked him if we wanted to go home and he said no! What? I thought he'd be happy to see us! I hate to be away from him, but I got a lot of cleaning done! I was so glad to pick him up!

Vroom Vroom! He had a lot of fun riding Colton's 4-wheeler!

Too cute!

Hey, I want the stick! Give me the stick!

Boys will be boys!

They're going to be best buddies!

Daddy & Cathy have mini-donkeys. This little guy was born on Friday! He's so cute!

 He's so little!

Flashback Friday

It's Friday! You know what that means? It's time for a flashback!

MJ vs McGavock 2009

MJ vs McGavock 2010

This is our good friend Courtney! We sit with Courtney at the games. The first picture was taken at the Wilson Central jamboree last year. We didn't get to go this year because it was too hot! So, we had to get a picture of Courtney & Xander at last night's game!

He has changed so much! It's amazing what a difference a year makes!

Bears Win! Bears Win!

Tonight we kicked off the 2010 season with a win! Woo hoo! We won 27 - 0!

I admit, I was super nervous about the game! Not whether we'd win or lose, but how Xander would do. Let me tell you, that little guy amazes me! I get so worked about stuff. I don't know why. He is the best little guy! Don't get me wrong, he did get a little crazy with the pom pom, throw the football a few times, etc., but overall he did AWESOME! I was so proud of him!

He is so funny. The whole first half he sat in my lap and held his two footballs. He wouldn't let go of them. After half-time he got a little wound up. With two minutes to go in the 4th, he started to have a meltdown. But, as soon as the game ended and we got to the field, he was wired!

If this game is an indication of what's to come, we're going to have a really good time this season!

Don't mess with me and my footballs!

I tried to get a picture of Xander with the bear. As you can see I got a picture of the bear without Xander. Xander freaked out!

C'mon mom feed me something! Can't you see I'm hungry!
Field of dreams.

Scott, I'm not sharing my football.

One day I'll be playing on this field.

Yippee! Daddy will be in a good mood this weekend!

The Boys of Fall

We're getting so excited; the 2010 football season kicks off tomorrow! We can't wait! By the way, you don't have to come to Mt. Juliet to watch the game! We're playing in the Thursday Night Lights game of the week! We'll be playing McGavock on WUXP MY30.

I've been getting Xander's football gear ready. Here's one of his new shirts:

Isn't it cute? I love how his name is made to look like a football. I got it on Etsy (love love love Etsy!).

I can't wait to get pictures of Xander at the games! Here's one of my favorites from last season:

Have you heard the new Kenny Chesney song? It's called "The Boys of Fall."  It gives me chill bumps!

Bad Attitude

Yep, I admit it. I had a really bad attitude Sunday morning. Why? Nothing was going my way. I'd had just about all I could take. Did I need to go to time-out, the reflection chair, the corner? Nope, I decided Xander & I needed to go to the park. I thought this would give me a chance to break out of my bad mood. Let me tell you, I left the park with a new, improved attitude.

Xander played. And, I played too. We played in the sand, on the swings, slides, etc. You name it, we did it. Xander played so hard he fell asleep before we made it back to the car.

Al tells me all the time I don't take time to smell the roses. He's so right. I'm so worried about everything being just so, or just right, that I don't step back and truly enjoy the moment. I shed a few tears as I left the park. I may not have "smelled the roses" but I tasted the sand. And it was the best tasting, grittiest sand.

Just a swingin'!

First, he had to talk to the Baa Baa.

Then, it was over to visit the horse.

Another Baa Baa...he loved talking to the different animals.

Mom, do I have to go down the slide?
I think I can, I think I can...I didn't let him climb too high. I knew I'd have to climb up after him!

Mom, I'm tired. Take me home!
